Nuclear Stress Testing

Nuclear stress testing involves the administration of a nuclear pharmaceutical for the purpose of obtaining pictures of the heart. These pictures are taken when the patient's heart is at rest and then again after their stress portion of the test. These pictures allow the Cardiologist to determine that the patient is getting a sufficient blood supply to all parts of the heart. It can also be used to assess the damage from a previous heart attack.
